Final presentation in October 07-08, 2015 “Around the City of Tomorrow more efficient and without stress with Car2x”
The final presentation of the UR:BAN Research project took place in Düsseldorf from October 07-08, 2015.
UR:BAN stands for urban space: user oriented assistance systems and network management.
Creating the traffic of the future more safe and efficient – This was the intention of the partners of the UR:BAN research project.
After four years of research activity all results were shown at an official final presentation. The guests could examine and experience newest technologies and highly elaborated systems in directly talking to the experts. Not only lectures and exhibitions but also complex live simulations of about 50 test vehicles were shown in the exhibition center.
Being experts in intelligent urban traffic management, we were head of the subproject “Cooperative Infrastructure”.
Our engineers were defining how the systems have to be constituted to enable the interaction of partial components among each other and the interaction with external components. Those results were then compiled in a guideline. The aims of this guideline are to support political and technical deciders in implementing Cooperative Systems in their cities, as well as guaranteeing the transferability of Cooperative Applications from UR:BAN to other communities.
We based the creation of the guideline on complex tests and analyses of the UR:BAN applications in laboratory tests and under real conditions. For that purpose, the Car2x applications were integrated in our traffic management software VTmanager in the urban traffic systems of Düsseldorf and Kassel.
31 partners of big automotive-, logistic-, electronic- and software companies, as well as research facilities, were working together on the UR:BAN research initiative.
